Trust is the only thing that makes a review site useful. This Ethics Policy explains the standards every AccentBrick article follows.
Editorial independence
Our editorial decisions are made by our editorial team alone. Advertisers, affiliate partners and manufacturers have no input into which products we cover, how we rate them or what we write about them. Nobody outside our team reviews articles before publication.
No paid placements
We do not accept payment, gifts or other incentives in exchange for coverage, rankings or favorable verdicts. If we ever publish sponsored content, it will be clearly labeled as sponsored at the top of the article and kept separate from our independent buying guides.
Free products and samples
If a brand sends us a product or sample, we will disclose it in the relevant article. Receiving a sample never guarantees coverage or a positive review, and we do not return favorable coverage in exchange for products.
Honesty about our methods
We describe exactly how we evaluate products on our How We Test page. We do not claim to have personally tested products we have only researched, and we never invent personal experiences, quotes or test results.
Accuracy and corrections
We work hard to get facts right, but mistakes happen. When we discover or are told about an error, we correct it as quickly as possible. Significant corrections – such as a wrong safety specification or a changed recommendation – are noted at the end of the article with the date of the update. To report an error, email [email protected].
Safety first
Brick wall projects can involve adhesives, masonry drilling, ladders, electrical work for lighting and materials near fireplaces. We highlight relevant safety information, recommend following manufacturer instructions and local building codes, and suggest hiring a qualified professional when a job goes beyond typical DIY.
Affiliate relationships
AccentBrick earns money through affiliate links, including as an Amazon Associate. These relationships are disclosed on every article and explained in our Affiliate Disclaimer. They never influence our recommendations.
Accountability
Our editor, Maren Vossley, is responsible for enforcing these standards. Questions about this policy can be sent through our Contact Us page.
